Ricciardo was disqualified from his home race after the stewards found his car to be consistently over the maximum fuel-flow limit according to the FIA sensor fitted in his car. Red Bull appealed his exclusion from the race, arguing the sensor was giving incorrect readings and that Ricciardo had not exceeded the fuel flow limit during the race, but was not successful.
