Jan Magnussen hails son’s F1 debut “exceeded expectations”

Former McLaren F1 driver Jan Magnussen had nothing but praise for his son Kevin Magnussen’s debut at the Australian Grand Prix. Magnussen himself was competing in the United Sportscar 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida with Corvette Racing on Saturday, which prevented him from attending the Australian Grand Prix and see his son race in person. The proud father was awash with emotion when asked how he felt moments after witnessing his son on the podium at his first grand prix. “To see him today on the podium was just unbelievable,” said Magnussen. “I can’t even put it into words how I’m feeling other than it’s fantastic and he just keeps surprising me, that’s all I can say.”...
