Maldonado got behind the wheel for the first official time on Friday, recordeding 26 laps, although his day included two stoppages on track as the E22 struggled with gearbox problems. Having missed the Jerez test Lotus need a strong final day on Saturday to ensure it is on track to race in Australia, but Maldonado has called on his team to stay calm.
