De Silvestro chasing 2015 race-seat
Simona De Silvestro has joined the Sauber fold with the goal of securing her super licence and preparing for a 2015 race-seat.
De Silvestro made a name for herself over in America's IndyCar Series and was claimed the Indy 500 'Rookie of the Year' Award in 2010.
The first woman to secure a podium finish at a street race in IndyCar, the 25-year-old is now embarking on a career in F1 with the aim to "prepare for a race seat in Formula One for 2015."
"This is a major step towards me achieving a life-long dream and I'm so happy to have the opportunity to take this step with such a great team," De Silvestro said.
