Haas set to meet next deadline for 2015 F1 entry 5 February, 2014 Gene Haas Despite Bernie Ecclestone's recent doubts, Nascar team co-owner Gene Haas is pushing ahead with his plans to enter Formula 1 in 2015 with an all American race team. After Haas responded to the FIA's invitation to fill the vacant team slot, Ecclestone said publicly he doubts the Californian is prepared to spend what it takes to compete in Formula 1. 'He doesn't think we will get the license,' Haas responded, 'so my chances probably aren't that great of a shot.' Nevertheless, Autosprint reports that Haas is pushing ahead.
