Rosberg suffers tyre failure in Bahrain

Pirelli's three-day Bahrain tyre test came to an abrupt end for Mercedes on Thursday after Nico Rosberg suffered a high-speed tyre failure. The Brackley-based squad was one of four teams who travelled to the Bahrain International Circuit for the test. Red Bull Racing ran Sebastien Buemi on all three days, Ferrari brought Pedro de la Rosa and Jules Bianchi to Bahrain and Toro Rosso gave their 2014 driver line-up some winter running. The FIA made changes to the 2013 Sporting Regulations on safety grounds, in order to let Pirelli conduct the tyre test for their 2014 compounds, as regular testing is banned until next year.
