Pirelli Bahrain tyre test confirmed by FIA
– Pirelli will stage its planned tyre test at the Bahrain International Circuit later this month after receiving final permission from governing body the FIA. Last week, the Italian manufacturer informed GPUpdate.net of its plans to carry out development work at the Sakhir venue from December 17-19, and the Formula 1 Commission has since agreed to make this possible by temporarily easing the current testing restrictions. All 11 teams were invited to the private three-day test, although only Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, Force India and Toro Rosso have chosen to attend. Lotus, Sauber, Williams, Marussia and Caterham will therefore sit out the gathering.
