Mandatory two-stop rule proposed for 2014

Formula 1 team principals will debate the idea of drivers having to complete two mandatory pitstops during a race in 2014 at the next Strategy Group meeting on December 9th. Pirelli suggested the idea earlier in November, with motorsport director Paul Hembery saying if it isn't implemented, they will deliver very conservative tyres which will last over half a race or more and create one-stop races. According to AUTOSPORT, the regulation change has been 'tabled for discussion' at the next meeting of the Strategy Group, where they will also discuss the introduction of a pole position award and permanent numbers.
