Mandatory two-stop rule to be discussed
Formula 1 team principals will debate the idea of imposing a mandatory two-stop rule in 2014 after Pirelli suggested the idea in November, as reported by The F1 Times. The F1 Strategy Group will meet on December 9th to discuss a raft of potential changes, but an increase from a minimum of one-stops to two would have the biggest impact on the sport. In addition, further rules may be implemented to limit the amount of running on each compound as a way to reduce the importance of tyre strategy and re-focus on the racing itself as 'tyre saving' would no longer be a requirement.
