‘A tough weekend’ for Caterham in India

A double retirement at the Buddh International Circuit took away another chance for Caterham to take back 10th in the constructors championship. Giedo van der Garde retired before completing one lap of the race following an incident involving his teammate Charles Pic and Marussia driver Max Chilton, which resulted in suspension damage. The Dutchman placed the blame at the door of Chilton and called him ‘an idiot’ on the team radio shortly after the incident. “I made a fair start but coming out of turn one Chilton left me no room and we made contact, breaking my front wing and suspension.
