Lewis Hamilton apologises after torrid qualifying result at Monza

Lewis Hamilton has apologised to his team after a torrid qualifying result at the Autodromo di Monza, which saw the former Italian Grand Prix winner qualify a torrid 12th for the 53-lap race after a host of issues during Q2. The Briton ran extensively wide at Turn 11, thus damaging the floor of his car. He was also impeded by the Force India of Adrian Sutil. Initially Lewis Hamilton’s qualifying session began in positive form, with the Briton ending Q1 3rd fastest behind his team-mate and reigning Champion Sebastian Vettel.
