Hamilton apologises to Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton has publicly apologised to his Mercedes team after failing to make it through the second phase of Saturday's qualifying session at the Monza circuit. Having been a prominent force throughout practice, Hamilton was a shock Q2 eliminee after his final timed run was affected by the slow-moving Force India of Adrian Sutil, an incident that is currently being investigated by the stewards. He will start Sunday's race from 12th, alongside the Lotus of Kimi Räikkönen.
