Alonso eager to open Spa account
Fernando Alonso says he hopes to be able to challenge for his first success at Spa this weekend when the F1 season resumes with the Belgian Grand Prix.Despite having over 30 wins to his name, Alonso has never taken victory at Spa, with second place being his best result to date in the Ardennes.The Spaniard saw his hopes of a strong result last year ended by the opening lap accident that saw Romain Grosjean handed a one-race ban, and the double champion said he hoped to be able to challenge this time around as he seeks to fight back into championship contention.“I did well in 2005 when I came second and also back in Formula 3000,” the Ferrari man said of his Spa history. “So far, I've...
