FP1: Ricciardo tops wet opening practice

Daniel Ricciardo topped the opening practice session for the British Grand Prix as he braved the wet conditions to post ten tentative laps around the Silverstone circuit. The Toro Rosso driver posted a lap of 1:54.249 to go ahead of Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg in second, over seven tenths behind. Only 11 drivers set flying laps, with the conditions far from favourable, half the grid decided to stay in their garages for the majority of the 90 minutes. Caterham's Charles Pic suffered a scary moment when he went off at turn 18 and hit the wall.
