Hamilton beats Vettel's time on Top Gear

Lewis Hamilton posted the fastest time recorded by a Formula 1 driver on Top Gear in his most recent show appearance, eclipsing Sebastian Vettel's previous benchmark. Lapping in a Suzuki Liana, the Mercedes driver lowered his personal best effort to a 1:42.9, more than one second quicker than Vettel managed in 2011. This compares to the 1:44.7 he produced during his first appearance, which was set on a wet track. Hamilton's improvement means he sits comfortable atop the leaderboard, with Vettel and ex-Formula 1 driver Rubens Barrichello currently completing the top three.
