Albon explains why he backs Williams: 'We needed this tough year'

Alex Albon says he’s chosen belief over frustration in his decision to commit his future to Williams despite a 2026 campaign that has so far delivered a painful reality check under Formula 1’s new regulations. After finishing fifth in the 2025 constructors’ championship, the British outfit entered the new era with expectations rising. But so far, Williams’ FW48 has proved painfully uncompetitive, leaving the team ninth in the standings with just 11 points at the season’s midpoint and Albon 16th on five.
