F1: Mercedes ponders upgrade schedule
While it has upgrades in the pipeline, the big problem for Mercedes is when to introduce them. Of the eleven races thus far, the Silver Arrows have claimed ten poles and eight wins, which, while very impressive, does not reflect the advantage it was thought to have at the start of the season. Indeed, due to various factors, since the Austrian Grand Prix it has been out-scored by Ferrari, which, it is fair to say, has its own issues. Then again, the Italian team's upgrade schedule has been so intense that Toto Wolff has questioned its legitimacy, certainly in terms of the budget cap, while McLaren has also introduced new parts on a regular basis.
