Hungarian GP: Norris claims first McLaren pole of 2026

Lando Norris finally opened his 2026 pole account in spectacular fashion at the Hungaroring, denying Lewis Hamilton by the slimmest of margins to end Mercedes' unbeaten qualifying run this season. The reigning world champion produced a sensational final lap of 1m17.207s in the dying moments of Q3, beating Hamilton by just 0.012s after finding crucial time through the middle sector and nailing the tricky final sequence of corners.
