Mick Schumacher Crashes Out Of IndyCar Podium Contention In Detroit

Former F1 driver Mick Schumacher squandered a golden opportunity for his first IndyCar podium after crashing in Detroit last weekend. IndyCar was competing in Detroit for the eighth round of its 2026 season, having followed on from the dramatic Indy500 finish in round seven. Alex Palou won the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix to extend his lead at the top of the championship standings during a race that proved eventful further down the field. Schumacher joined IndyCar as a full-time racer with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing ahead of 2026, having been axed from F1 at the end of the 2022 season.
