Williams lands key McLaren figure in fresh leadership shake-up

Williams has fired another clear signal to the Formula 1 paddock: the rebuilding project at Grove is accelerating – and the team is no longer shy about recruiting heavyweight talent from its direct rivals. In a major leadership move, Williams has secured former McLaren chief operating officer Piers Thynne for a newly created senior position aimed at sharpening the team’s long-term championship ambitions. Thynne, who departed McLaren earlier this year after helping oversee the team’s resurgence back toward the front of the grid, will join Williams in August as chief optimisation...
