Qualifying for the Miami Grand Prix has been completed and Sergio Perez will start from P4 on Sunday. The Mexican was just five thousandths short of P3. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz was narrowly faster in his SF-24 than Perez with the RB20. Charles Leclerc starts from P2 and Max Verstappen from P1. Perez explains where those five thousandths come in.

Perez on his qualifying in Miami

"It could have been anywhere, really, but I lost it in turn eight," the Red Bull driver told Viaplay. "I went over the kerb and I lost some time there, unfortunately. I think, definitely, at least the front row was on the cards today, and probably a little bit more than that. But yeah, we just didn't maximise the full potential today."

Perez still thinks a one-two is possible in Miami. "Yeah, that would be the target to get through them quickly and try to do our own race. I think that will be the key for us tomorrow."
