Former F1 team principal Otmar Szafnauer has urged Christian Horner to re-sign Sergio Perez for next season to continue in his role as the 'Mexican minister of defence'.

Perez is out of contract at the end of the year, and although the seat is his to lose, there are many suitors eager to replace him and be the next team-mate to Max Verstappen.

Former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has questioned Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari ahead of the seven-time champion's switch to the Scuderia next season.

Hamilton stunned the sport three months ago when it was announced he would be ending what will be a 12-season career with the German manufacturing giant with whom he has won six of his championships.

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu has explained why he still 'calls Gene' - an act made famous by predecessor Guenther Steiner.

As part of Netflix's Drive to Survive, Steiner would often be filmed preparing to call owner Gene Haas to debrief over the result of the day, either good or bad.

RB to carry out further Ricciardo 'sanity check' later in the season

RB team principal Laurent Mekies has confirmed further changes to this year's car will be carried out "later in the season" to improve Daniel Ricciardo's comfort.

Since the beginning of the year, Ricciardo has struggled with the handling of the VCARB 01, leading to the Australian going from being a candidate to return to Red Bull in 2025 to speculation he only had a few races to save his seat with RB.

De Vries: No sense of 'grief' after first taste of victory champagne since 2022

Nyck de Vries says he holds no feelings of "grief" towards his failed stint in F1 in which he lost his drive at AlphaTauri after just 10 races with the team.

The 29-year-old, currently racing for Mahindra in Formula E and Toyota Gazoo Racing in endurance, recently won his first race in almost two years at the FIA WEC 6 Hours of Imola, with his previous victory coming at the 2022 Berlin E-Prix.
