Williams aim for points in Spain: 'Will help us be a bit more competitive'

Williams is still on just one point after six Grands Prix. Alexander Albon scored a tenth-place finish in the opening race in Bahrain, but other than that there have been few successes for the British formation. The team hopes the Spanish Grand Prix weekend will be the starting point of a better period.

Albon is looking forward to the weekend in Barcelona. "I’m looking forward to Barcelona this week, as we head to a racetrack after a bunch of street circuits. It’s a good track to learn what the car is like with a mix of low speed/high speed, however more high speed due to the track changes, so that will interesting," said Albon, who is fine with the removal of the last chicane. "I think it will make the circuit more fun and more raceable, so let’s see where it goes."

On street circuits, the FW45 hasn't really come into its own in recent weeks. Now that the European season has kicked off, Albon hopes better results are on the horizon. "It shouldn’t be a track that normally suits us or at least it hasn’t been previously, however by removing some of the corners at the end of the lap, I think it will help us be a bit more competitive."

Sargeant sees challenge in tyre management

Logan Sargeant also makes a comment in the Williams press release: "I’m excited and ready for Barcelona this weekend. A track I have a lot of good memories at from the past and enjoy driving on. It should be quite tricky with conditions and generally being a high degradation track, but we are prepared for the weekend," said the driver from the United States.
