Ferrari admit Leclerc 'miscommunication': It was not a good call

Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur admits that the team will need to "speak" about a communication issue for Charles Leclerc during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur says that Ferrari will address a "miscommunication" that affected Charles Leclerc during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The incident unfolded when Leclerc pitted under the Safety Car, which was deployed following Lance Stroll's retirement from the race on Lap 18. Leclerc had been ahead of Lewis Hamilton before his stop but emerged behind the Mercedes, with the Monegasque having been informed too late that he needed to push from "Safety Car line one". An unhappy Leclerc responded "you need to tell me that before", and then added: "No, but come on!" Leclerc went on to finish the event in P7, with teammate Carlos Sainz ahead in P6.

Vasseur addresses Ferrari 'miscommunication'

Vasseur acknowledged that this had not been a "good call", but suggested that he did not want to focus too much on the incident. "Yes, it was not a good call," Vasseur told media, including RacingNews365.com . "It is like it is. It's not the main issue and I think it would be a mistake from our side to focus on [it]. "I don't want to say it's details. It was a miscommunication and we will have to speak, to fix it. It's not the main issue at all over the weekend."
