Lewis Hamilton is confident that Mercedes will return to the podium in the remaining races of the season. Should it not, he says it is not the end of the world either.

Hamilton said to Sky that they will use the positives of their struggles throughout this season to return to the top. Hamilton holds the record for winning a race in all 15 of his F1 seasons so far and has won six titles with Mercedes since 2014. Although Mercedes generally has a slower car than Red Bull Racing and Ferrari, the Italian team's lack of faults means they can compete for second place in the constructors' standings.

Power

With six races to go, Hamilton and Mercedes are still waiting for their first win of the season. Particularly at the start of the season, the German formation has fallen behind following the introduction of new technical regulations. Hamilton said Wednesday at an event hosted by sponsor Petronas that he does not see 2022 as a "dry" period. He sees it as a setback from which he believes he can draw strength. "I think we've gained a lot of strength in depth. When you winning all the time it's a wonderful thing but you don't gain a lot when you win", said the seven-time world champion.

He continued that there are six races left and therefore six chances to win:"But if we do not do well, I do not think it is the end of the world", Hamilton put it into perspective. Red Bull and last year's title rival, Max Verstappen, have clearly made a big move this year, but Hamilton concludes confidently:"We will get back to the top."
