Nicholas Latifi makes admission about his Formula 1 career

Nicholas Latifi has never quite lived up to expectations in Formula 1, and saw his time in the sport come to an end in Abu Dhabi, as Williams look to young Logan Sargeant to partner Alex Albon in 2023. In his first two seasons in F1, Latifi was understandably in the shadow of British wonderkid George Russell, but after a strong end to the 2021 season it seemed written in the stars that Russell’s departure to Mercedes would allow the Canadian to become the number one driver at Williams. Williams claimed that Latifi had kept his seat for 2022 out of merit, suggesting that the Canadian was no longer a ‘pay driver’ as the team had become more financially stable.
