2021 F1 Russian Grand Prix – Free Practice 1 results

Article To news overview © Mercedes Mercedes have taken a 1-2 in first practice for the Russian Grand Prix at the Sochi Autodrom. Valtteri Bottas used the Soft compound tyre to set a 1:34.427 to finish 0.211 clear of teammate Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull's Max Verstappen finished in third place, a further 0.016 seconds behind, also on the Soft tyre. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc utilised his new spec power unit to finish in fourth place, with Aston Martin's Sebastian Vettel starting his weekend well in fifth place.
