Mercedes ditches Silverstone F1 launch for Bahrain shakedown

© XPB  Michael Delaney 17/01/2025 at 14:4317/01/2025 at 14:44 Mercedes has opted to ditch its traditional F1 season launch event at Silverstone for a filming day with its 2025 W16 challenger at the Bahrain International Circuit on February 25. The shakedown will take place just one day before pre-season testing begins at Sakhir, according to Motorsport.com.  The decision to shift the launch closer to testing ensures the W16 remains under development for as long as possible, a strategic move as the team looks to reclaim its place at the pinnacle of the Constructors’ Championship.
