Alpine sign engine deal with Mercedes for 2026 F1 season

Formula One's French outfit, Alpine has announced a new partnership with Mercedes, with the German manufacturer set to supply power unit to the Enstone-based outfit from 2026 until at least the end of 2030. Following months of speculation and a protest from Renault F1 employees at the Italian Grand Prix, Renault made the final decision regarding its presence at the pinnacle of motorsport last month, electing to leave the sport. The decision has left its sister company Alpine without a power unit from 2026. The decision marks the end of a long, impressive era for the French manufacturer.
