Everything went wrong today in Imola, says Alonso
Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso had a tough day in Imola, crashing his AMR24 into the walls in final practice before getting knocked out in the first qualifying segment. Fernando Alonso has had a difficult weekend so far in Imola. The two-time world champion looked quite pleased with his upgraded AMR24 on Friday, but today saw things turn bad for the Spaniard. He crashed his Aston Martin into the walls in the final practice, and while the Silverstone-based outfit's mechanics were able to repair his car, a series of issues hindered him in the opening part of qualifying that saw the Spaniard end the session in last place.
