Grosjean survives horrific fiery first-lap crash in Bahrain

Haas’ Romain Grosjean has been taken to the medical centre for a check-up in the wake of a horrific opening lap accident at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Amid jostling on the first lap at the Bahrain International Circuit Grosjean moved right through the exit of Turn 3 to avoid slower cars ahead but made contact with the AlphaTauri of Daniil Kvyat. Grosjean speared across the front of Kvyat at high-speed into the inside retaining barrier and upon impact the car was split in half, with the chassis lodging upside down in the armco.
