Insight: Assessing F1's fierce fight for third

Since Formula 1’s turbo-hybrid era began in 2014, the fight to lead the Constructors’ Championship at the season’s end has rarely been anything more than a one-horse race. This year is no different, with the fight for second also being a no contest, as Mercedes and Red Bull fill out the top two positions with little competition from behind. Similarly, throughout the last seven years there been little noise created over the battle for third, even in 2014 and 2015 when Williams out-scored Ferrari and Red Bull respectively with relative ease.
