Mercedes team members tests positive for COVID-19

A member of the Mercedes Formula 1 team has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of this weekend's Eifel Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. A spokesperson for the team said the situation was “being handled in line with FIA protocols, working closely with the FIA”, but did not reveal the identity of the individual involved. However, it was confirmed that neither Lewis Hamilton or Valtteri Bottas tested positive. Mercedes added that it would make any necessary adjustments to ensure this weekend's Grand Prix preparation was not disrupted, with all 10 teams continuing to take precautions in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus.
