IMS forced to bar all fans from 2020 Indy 500!

The 2020 Indy 500 will finally run without any spectators on August 23 because of an increase of COVID-19 numbers across the state of Indiana. IndyCar initially hoped to fill up the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to 50 per cent of its capacity, but in light of a ramp-up of COVID-19 cases in Indiana that number was reduced to 20 per cent, or one quarter of the traditional race day crowd numbers of between 250,000 and 300,000 fans.
