Abiteboul: From 2022, anyone will be a threat to anyone

Formula 1's new regulations will mean supplier teams start to see their customers as threats instead of partners, says Renault boss Cyril Abiteboul. Starting with a $145 million cost cap in 2021, F1 is set try and reverse the trend that has seen no team other than Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull win a race since Lotus' victory at the 2013 Australian Grand Prix. Additionally, 2022 will see the introduction of new technical regulations designed to promote closer racing, and while Abiteboul's team could be one of the prime beneficiaries of the changes, he also foresees a subsequent upheaval in the supplier-customer team dynamic.
