Marko confirms Red Bull Racing 'just wanted to race'
Helmet Marko and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing didn't want the Australian Grand Prix to be cancelled. The 76-year-old admits his team "just wanted to drive". F1 made the announcement just a couple of hours before cars were due on track for the first practice session of the 2020 season. "We just wanted to drive. Others also, but they no longer had an engine," Marko tells Motorsport-Magazin. With Mercedes and Ferrari both walking away, none of the engine customer teams for those two manufacturers would have been able to race.
