FIA, Ferrari reach agreement after PU investigation
The FIA has concluded its investigation into Ferrari's power unit and reached an agreement with the Scuderia heading into the 2020 season. The governing body issued a series of Technical Directives towards the end of the 2019 campaign which appeared to correlate with a decrease in performance from the Ferrari SF90. It led to the likes of Max Verstappen accuse the team of cheating with its power unit, something which Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto strenuously denied. Ferrari's power unit was taken by the FIA for further scrutineering over the winter and, just as pre-season testing was coming to a close in Barcelona, a statement was released to say the investigation is now over.
