FIA agrees ‘settlement' with Ferrari over engine investigation

The FIA released a short statement on Friday confirming it had reached a settlement with Ferrari following an investigation into the Italian manufacturer's power unit, which was the subject of much speculation last year. A number of teams were unhappy with Ferrari's power unit throughout the 2019 Formula 1 season, with claims they were tricking the fuel flow sensor to deliver more fuel than the regulations allowed, thus giving an unfair power gain. The situation came to a head during the season finale in Abu Dhabi when the FIA issued Ferrari with a 50,000 fine after the team wrongly declared how much fuel was aboard Charles Leclerc's car, prompting claims the two were related.
