Alfa Romeo formally unveils C39 ahead of testing

Alfa Romeo has become the final team to officially launch its 2020 Formula 1 challenger, the C39, ahead of the start of pre-season testing. The covers were taken off the new car during a low-key unveiling in the pit lane at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, shortly before the start of the first day of testing. Kimi Raikkonen gave the C39 a shakedown at Fiorano last Friday, with the car running in a special one-off snakeskin-inspired colour scheme. Alfa Romeo finished eighth in last year’s Constructors’ Championship, replicating Sauber’s 2018 position, as it struggled to consistently develop its C38.
