Racing Point ‘started from scratch' with 2020 car
Racing Point’s 2020 Formula 1 car is “entirely new”, according
to its technical boss, with the outfit shirking the evolutionary approach
adopted by most rivals. Racing Point finished seventh in last year’s Constructors’
Championship, its first full campaign under the ownership of Lawrence Stroll,
following his acquisition of Force India mid-2018. The team has targeted finishing at the head of Formula 1’s
midfield pack this year, and it will need to overhaul AlphaTauri, Renault and
McLaren if it is to accomplish those targets. Racing Point will continue to field the experienced Sergio
Perez, entering his tenth season in Formula 1, alongside Lance Stroll, son of
