George Russell: First F1 season a “steep learning curve”

George Russell has said that his first season in Formula 1 has been a “steep learning curve” after winning the Formula 2 championship in 2018 to then driving at the back of the grid for Williams. Russell has been a part of Mercedes’ junior driver programme since 2017 having tested for Force India (now SportPesa Racing Point) before being given a seat at Williams alongside Robert Kubica for 2019. The 21-year old made the most that he could with the slowest car on the grid, out-qualifying Kubica at all 21 races and finishing ahead the majority of the time during races. The Pole managed to finish higher than the Briton on the championship thanks to picking up a...
