Drivers get third MGU-K for 22-race 2020 F1 season

The FIA has increased the allocation of permitted power unit components for the first time in Formula 1’s hybrid era, with drivers allowed a third MGU-K in 2020. The power unit comprises six components – the Internal Combustion Engine, Turbocharger, MGU-H, MGU-K, Energy Store and Control Electronics – and the number of permitted parts has reduced over time. For 2019, drivers were permitted three ICEs, Turbochargers and MGU-Hs, while the MGU-K, Energy Store and Control Electronics usage was reduced to just two.
