Verstappen given three place grid penalty

Mexican Grand Prix – The FIA has given Max Verstappen a three place grid penalty, stripping him of pole position for Sunday's race. Following a steward's enquiry, Max Verstappen has been given a three place grid penalty for Sunday's race in Mexico. The Dutch driver will start the race from P4 after stewards gave him the penalty for a failure to slow down for yellow flags at the end of Q3. The yellow flags were being shown to cover the crashed Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas at the final corner. Speaking in the press conference following qualifying, Verstappen confirmed that he had not lifted off for the flags and said: 'Do we have to go there? To safety? I think we know what we are doing...
