Renault aims to promote Academy driver to F1 in 2021

Renault Sport F1 boss Cyril Abiteboul says the French outfit is hoping to promote a young talent from its driver academy to F1 in 2021. Next year, Renault will rely on Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon to lead the charge, but the Enstone team is putting its full support behind its squad of young chargers as it shifts its internal "dynamic". "I think it is was important when given the opportunity to seize the opportunity of an accomplished driver in Daniel last year," explained Abiteboul, referring to Renault's initial snub of Ocon in 2018.
