Ricciardo takes grid penalty, starts from the back

Hungarian Grand Prix – Daniel Ricciardo will start the Hungarian Grand Prix from the back of the grid after taking new power unit components. The Renault driver had one of his worst qualifying performances of the season at the Hungaroring after being eliminated in Q1. Ricciardo was unable to set a final flying lap after misjudging the build-up of traffic on his warm-up lap. He attempted to overtake Racing Point's Sergio Perez around the outside of the final corner before starting his lap but, with Perez having the inside line and choosing not to yield, Ricciardo was forced to back off on the main straight and abandon the lap.
