Lewis Hamilton 'in much better shape' after Germany illness

Lewis Hamilton has said he's feeling 'much better' following an illness which almost ruled him out of the German Grand Prix. Hamilton arrived at Hockenheim unsure as to whether he would compete, with Mercedes preparing to replace him with reserve driver Esteban Ocon. It's believed the five-time champion was suffering from the flu and admitted the illness had impacted his performance over the weekend, which saw him finish outside the top five for the first time this season. In order to recover ahead of the Hungarian GP this weekend, which is a back-to-back event with Germany, the Briton cleared his schedule.
