Bottas struggled to find 'confidence' in Mercedes car during qualifying

With the two Ferraris stuck in the garage, Valtteri Bottas had a great opportunity to get onto the front row but it wasn't to be after Max Verstappen put in a strong lap. Bottas will start the German Grand Prix from third place after struggling to find confidence.  "It's going to be a long race and the weather will play a part. I was really disappointed, I didn't really find similar confidence that I did in practice especially under braking. I just struggled and I need to check everything is alright," Bottas said.  Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc were the two favourites going into qualifying.
