Leclerc tops Germany FP2 as Gasly crashes out

Charles Leclerc maintained Ferrari's position at the top of the timesheets in second practice for the German Grand Prix, heading up a one-two finish for the team had of Sebastian Vettel. After trailing Vettel by two-tenths of a second in opening practice at Hockenheim on Friday morning, Leclerc managed to take top spot in FP2 as temperatures continued to rise through the afternoon, reaching 38ºC in the air and 50ºC on the track. Leclerc's lap of 1m13.449s saw him edge out Vettel by one-tenth of a second on the Soft compound tyre as the duo cleared both Mercedes drivers once again.
