Leclerc edges Vettel, Gasly causes red flag – FP2 Report

German Grand Prix – Charles Leclerc pipped team-mate Sebastian Vettel to top the qualifying simulations at the Hockenheimring, as Red Bull's Pierre Gasly crashed out. Picking up from where Vettel left off in the morning session, Leclerc had the edge over his colleague by setting the fastest lap by 0.124 of a second. With concerns over the durability of the soft tyre in the scorching hot conditions in Germany, drivers fought to keep the tyres alive for a full flying lap. The Ferrari drivers set the pace, but Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton kept them in close company, setting a lap just 0.02 behind Vettel's best effort.
