Ocon a contender for Bottas' Mercedes seat

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has suggested that Esteban Ocon is a contender for Valtteri Bottas’ Formula 1 seat with Mercedes. Ocon is a member of Mercedes’ junior driver academy, but missed out on a seat in the 2019 season after Force India was taken over by Lawrence Stroll, who subsequently replaced the Frenchman with his son, Lance. Without a full-time seat, he currently acts as a reserve driver for Mercedes. Article continues under video Bottas, meanwhile, started the season superbly as he won two out of the opening four races in Australia and Azerbaijan.
